Sonartic has been founded in 2022 as a “Family and Friends” music production project. Currently Sonartic has got three members with various musical background and a wide range of ideas.

Our Vision

A few years ago we visited a big city close to our hometown. It was a beautiful Summer day and people enjoyed to go for a walk in the citycenter eating ice-cream and having fun. After a while we noticed a group of young people wearing curious cloths. Girls with batik t-shirts and flared pants, boys wearing t-shirts with Che Guevara on it. This was the moment when we got a flash-back. We saw relics of a past century. But what has happened? 50 years ago wearing such clothes was culture and a way of living. And wearing Che Guevara was a statement. But today? Today oversized pants is only life style and Che Guevara is just a printed pattern.

Now you may ask: What does the clothing have to do with music? A lot! Remember what happened in the 60s and 70s. The Vietnam War, the Cuba Crisis, the Iron Curtain devided Europe, the JFK assassination, the Martin Luther King assassination, a peak of race and gender discrimination, generation conflicts in the post World War II era, and much more. Now look at people‘s reflection: the Hippie era, the peace movement, the women‘s movement, the Christopher Street Day, love, peace and happening and all embedded, emphasized and carried by new music styles like Beat, Rock, Pop and more, when musicians reflected and addressed the situation we were in.

That‘s why I‘m totally surprised when I see someone decorated with souvenirs from the past not being aware what a former style really expressed. But how do we express our opinion and statements today? What is music telling us today? Is music telling us something anyway? Is it really the case that there is no issue worth to work on? By far not!

There is even more to tell about the music in the 60s and 70s. Musicians tried to extend their consciousness. I want to emphasize that I do not agree with all methods like consuming drugs as an example. But it shows that musicians felt more or wanted to feel more than hearing tunes when they made music. There must be more beyond. That’s why musicians like the Beatles, Donovan, Beach Boys and many more went to India to learn transcendental meditation and got also in contact with Indian musicians to learn from them. It is remarkable that not only Jazz musicians went this way.

Maybe you are also noticing a present music industry where pure entertainment is the only driver. Sonartic steps back a bit from this approach and tries to focus more on themes again like the music in the 1960s and 70s did. But the intention is not to prevent the listeners from enjoying the music. It’s more to add value to the music again. We are aware that this goal is ambitioned. Maybe we never reach this goal. But isn’t it worth to try?

What we currently do

At present Sonartic is a pure studio production project. But nevertheless we are open to co-operate with live bands who want to perform our music.
